A Celebration Beyond Awards

The BWMA champions the creativity of Black artists who have shaped Welsh sound culture — past, present, and future.
From Aleighcia Scott’s bilingual soul anthem to Mace The Great’s hard-hitting lyricism and Lemfreck’s introspective album, this year’s winners represent Wales’ new generation of musical brilliance.

Founded by Professor Uzo Iwobi CBE and Ify Iwobi, the BWMA celebrates inclusivity and empowerment, aligning with the Welsh Government’s Anti-Racist Wales Action Plan and supported by Creative Wales.
