Cardiff-born reggae queen Aleighcia Scott is back with a brand-new single that’s already turning heads across the UK reggae scene. Her latest release, Fade Away, dropped on 24 October 2025 via Recordiau Côsh Records, and it’s everything fans have been waiting for — a soulful, roots-infused anthem that blends the golden sound of lovers rock with Aleighcia’s signature modern twist.
Produced by the brilliant Dubtanian and accompanied by cinematic visuals from the creative lens of Yasnaps, Fade Away captures Aleighcia in her full artistic power: bold, authentic, and rooted in love, resilience, and the timeless spirit of reggae.
From the first note, Fade Away draws you in with a smooth bassline, classic reggae drums, and shimmering guitar licks that nod to the golden era of lovers rock. Aleighcia’s voice — rich, emotional, and full of conviction — glides effortlessly over the rhythm, bringing a message of love and strength that refuses to be silenced.
The track is both nostalgic and refreshing, a perfect fusion of “old-school feel meets new-school soul.” It’s a song about resilience in love, about staying true to what matters even when life’s rhythm changes.
“For this track, I really wanted to have an old school lovers rock sound with a new school sound – combining the two whilst keeping the authentic roots as the foundation,” Aleighcia explains.
That foundation of authenticity has always been at the heart of Aleighcia’s artistry — she’s a bridge between eras, cultures, and sounds. And Fade Away proves once again why she’s one of the most important voices in modern reggae.
2025 has been a landmark year for Aleighcia Scott — not just musically, but culturally. She’s continuously raised the flag for Wales on the international reggae map. Her Welsh-language single Dod o’r Galon broke barriers earlier this year, becoming the first-ever Welsh-language reggae song to hit Number 1 on the iTunes Reggae Chart — a proud moment for Welsh culture, reggae lovers, and bilingual music fans everywhere.
Her powerful performances have taken her across the UK and Europe — from sharing the stage as special guest on Lila Iké’s UK tour, to representing Wales at the Women’s Euros in Switzerland, and opening the Stuttgart Festival of Cultures. Each appearance reaffirms Aleighcia’s ability to connect with audiences far beyond borders or languages.
Aleighcia’s impact extends well beyond her music. In 2026, she’ll be returning as the reigning champion coach on Y Llais (The Voice, Wales), joining a star-studded panel with Sir Bryn Terfel, Yws Gwynedd, and Bronwen Lewis.
Her mentorship of Rose Datta during the debut series led not only to an unforgettable win but also to a BAFTA nomination, and, perhaps most importantly, inspired countless young viewers to reconnect with their Welsh heritage and language.
Aleighcia’s leadership, authenticity, and creative drive are reshaping what it means to be a Welsh artist on the global stage — proud of her roots, passionate about her message, and fearless in her sound.
When she’s not performing or in the studio, Aleighcia continues to champion culture and community through radio. She’s a familiar voice on BBC Radio Wales, where she hosts her weekly reggae show, and she’s also made waves on BBC 1Xtra, deputising for the legendary David Rodigan — a clear sign of the respect she’s earned from reggae’s finest.
Her influence as a Creative Wales champion and recognition from The Guardian, which named her one of 2025’s breakout Welsh artists, mark her as a leading figure in a new era of homegrown talent — one that celebrates both roots and representation.
With Fade Away, Aleighcia isn’t just releasing another single — she’s continuing a movement. It’s a sound that connects the soul of reggae with the heart of Wales, bridging cultural gaps through music that speaks to everyone.
This track showcases her ability to evolve while staying grounded in the genre’s roots. It’s warm, emotional, and powerful — the kind of song that lingers long after it ends.
“Fade Away is about love that endures — not perfect love, but real love,” Aleighcia shares. “It’s about understanding your strength through connection and holding onto that energy even when things change.”
And that message couldn’t come at a better time. In a world where everything moves fast and fades quickly, Fade Away reminds us to pause, breathe, and hold onto what matters most.
